Spoken Word: The Origin Story

I am a huge fan of spoken word poetry. I mean, I wish I was the type of person that knew how to do that. I admire it a lot because you are not just reading the words but you get to see it performed and for a moment, you are taking a journey into the world of the poet and the story and it is just so phenomenal to me.

One of my favourite spoken word poets in Sarah Kay. I think she is awesome and I love how she puts words together. I also love the poems that she does with her friend Philip Kaye. Both of them are fire together and the poem that I am about to share shows that maybe their meeting was pre-ordained.

I am a huge believer in destiny. I believe that God puts certain people in our life for a reason. Some people are just your soul mates and soul mates doesn’t only work in the context of romance; it could also be friendship or mentorship. Either way, I feel like it is one of life’s little miracles – the ability to meet someone who you connect with on a deeper level.

Anyway, this poem really got me to understand Sarah & Phil more. The way they met and the little coincidences in their lives just makes me believe all the more in fate and destiny.

Please, enjoy and let me know your thoughts.
